Headline of the Week

Weekly, the Racer X Slack thread is filled with great headlines from newspapers around the globe. So, we’ve decided to make it a weekly feature here on Exhaust.

We just can’t make this shit up. After staff from Holmdel High School in New Jersey found human feces near its football field and track daily, surveillance cameras were set up to nab the culprit. What they didn’t anticipate was catching another district’s school superintendent in the act at 5:50 a.m.

Kenilworth Public Schools Superintendent Thomas Tramaglini, 42, was taken into custody and charged with lewdness, public urination/defecation, and littering, according to USA Today. He requested to be placed on paid leave following his arrest. His court date is set for May 7.

Tramaglini lives three miles away from Holmdel High, so it doesn’t seem unlikely that he would use the school grounds to exercise in the mornings. However, because he hasn’t made an official comment on the incident, people have flocked to the internet to hypothesize the motivation behind the superintendent’s persistent poop presents. (Some funny nicknames were also in the mix—not that we didn’t see “pooperintendent” coming.)

NJ.com opened up the floor with a Q&A post of sorts that was more question than answer, investigating everything from the “morning runs” to serial pooping, but until Tramaglini opens up about his transgression, we may never know the reason behind his unconventional daily ritual.

Here's what this headline would look like in print:
