As you’ll learn more about in Weege’s upcoming column in Racer X Illustrated (BUY THE MAG HERE, YOU’LL LEARN SOMETHING), the inspiration for this site came in part from a 2011 article (yes, we’ve been talking about launching this site for YEARS) published on Racer X Online called “Headlines If Dusty Pipes Wins a Race.” 

If was the off-season, so why not have some fun, right? Well, many in the comments and on social media DID NOT want us to have fun. They wanted straight news on silly season, etc. (BTW, we had provided that as well). Over the years, we had more fun ideas that never came to fruition because Racer X Online readers want news, which is totally fine. We get it. But it’s also why we launched this site. For fun!

We decided to re-post the original 2011 article here so everyone could enjoy (or not) some great Dusty Pipes headlines. Now, a few things have changed since 2011, namely that Dusty told us he wants to go by "Dustin." Sure, whatever. But this is funnier. Leave us a note in the comments with your best headlines. The 2011 season is complete, and privateer (#652) Dusty Pipes came up short on a win. That bums us out, because our staff would like nothing more than to thread the best name in the sport into some race-winning headlines.
