NBA Team Signs Jersey Patch Deal with Dating App Bumble

If you haven’t been following the NBA this year (my guess is you definitely have not been) then you may not have noticed the small 2 ½ x 2 ½ jersey sponsorship logo on the left shoulder of some teams. The NBA announced a three-year pilot program for jersey sponsorships beginning with the 2017-'18 season, and those little logos have fetched between $2 and $8 million annually, according to a Forbes report.

Companies such as Stubhub (Philadelphia 76ers), Goodyear (Cleveland Cavaliers), Disney (Orlando Magic), and Fitbit (Minnesota Timberwolves) have already jumped on board. Even Harley-Davidson is involved, with the Milwaukee-based company sponsoring the Bucks.

This brings us to the latest sponsorship deal announced earlier this week. The Los Angeles Clippers became the 20th team to sign a jersey patch deal with… Bumble. Yes, the dating app will now be on the jersey of an NBA team. This is fantastic!

The deal is reportedly worth $20 million, per Yahoo.
