Don't Expect To See Tesla Making Motorcycles Anytime Soon

When he’s not feuding with the media or building awesome rockets, Elon Musk serves as the CEO of Tesla, the California-based company which specializes in electric vehicles, energy storage, and more.

With electric motorcycles starting to gain traction and even Harley-Davidson investing in electric development, would Tesla ever consider making motorcycles?

That’s a no, according to Jalopnik.

Musk reportedly shot down the notion of building motorcycles at Tesla’s shareholder meeting on Tuesday. Musk said he rode dirt bikes growing up and had a street bike until he was 17 when a truck nearly “killed him.”

“So, we’re not going to do motorcycles,” Musk said, according to Fox News.

Well, shit. It's good to know that Musk was raised riding dirt bikes, though. Here is more from Jalopnik:

During the meeting, a member of the audience complimented Musk on his leather jacket and asked if Tesla was planning to develop motorcycles in the future. Musk responded with a story about how he rode dirt bikes growing up for eight years.

He said he also had a street bike until he was 17, when he was almost hit by a truck and killed, presumably stopping his riding habit.
