Not everyone is going to fall in love with electric motorcycles. That’s understandable. Part of what draws a lot of us into motorcycles is the sound of the engine. One thing we cannot dismiss, though: Electric motorcycles will provide more riding opportunities. As many of you have already seen in your local riding communities, noise ordinances are a big factor in tracks shutting down. 

Alta Motors recently showed such opportunities as they took their Redshift EXR around the trails of Lake Tahoe. They even featured a Santa Cruz mountain bike in the video to show that motorcycles will be able to ride the same exact trails.

Of course, this won't work in all situations, as many mountain bike trails have already put the hex on electric-powered vehicles, be they dirt bikes or mountain bikes. The video below shows some of the possibilities that may lie ahead, though. You know what they say: Less sound equals more ground.
